CHASE MINDSET

Mental Sports Performance Coaching and

Performance Mindset Counseling for athletes ages 12 and older

Some days, everything lines up in sports.

We are in the zone. Focused. Alert.

Calls go our way.

No one can stop us.

Nothing gets in our way.

We are on our game!

Aren’t those days great?

Sometimes, we struggle.

We make mistakes.

There are bad calls.

We can’t focus.

We can’t get out of our heads.

We get so nervous that we freeze.

We get injured.

Nothing seems to go right.

This can get discouraging!

What would it feel like to struggle less?

Imagine what it would be like if you didn’t get so caught up in your head.

To quickly reset after a mistake. If you could shrug off a bad call without being affected by it.

What if you could get into the zone on command? Mid-play, with your eyes open!

Imagine sleeping better.

Feeling more at ease.

More in control.

Imagine feeling more confident!

Imagine changing your nervous system to build sustained confidence.

Milissa Aronson, LCSW

There is no question that playing sports can be an incredible experience, and being involved in one or more sports can bring tremendous benefits. At the same time, being a young athlete can come with extraordinary stress! There are intense schedules. Injuries, recovery, and returning to sports after being injured. Adjusting to growth spurts and other changes due to puberty. Competition for limited team spaces and positions. Commitments to teammates, coaches, fans, and family members. Social Media. Performance pressure. All in addition to the pressures of school and being a teenager! It’s no wonder that the American College of Sports Medicine estimates that approximately 35% of professional and elite athletes struggle with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and burnout (compared to approximately 25% of the general population)! Today’s athletes need more support than ever.

My name is Milissa Aronson (she/hers/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping young athletes develop their minds, bodies, and souls. In my 20+ years as a therapist, I have helped numerous high-performing individuals manage the stress and pressures of performing and move past the anxiety and worry that stand in the way of them becoming their best selves. In addition to being a licensed therapist, I hold a Certificate in Sports Social Work, am trained in EMDR therapy, and am Certified in HeartMath Heart-Rate Variability. I use my unique skill set to help athletes change how their nervous systems affect their confidence and performance to help them return from injury safely and confidently, move past the yips and performance blocks, and feel better about themselves and their performance. Through working closely with an athletes’ team of coaches, family members, and trainers, I aim to bring a comprehensive approach to training that addresses mental wellness, sports trauma, and psychological obstacles so that athletes can be their best in their sports and lives!
